The news feature is a great addition to the site! Interesting, varied and topical subject matter – well pitched level of Italian. The reading (by your son?) is clear and well-paced.
I am now making it a “must read/listen to” each morning – or whenever the bulletin arrives in my inbox.

In reply to wpx_easyital. Yes, it happens to me every time! After you start the recording, it seems the down cursor is connected to the volume. You need to click on the page first, and then the scrolling works instead. Give it a try!

I haven’t noticed it, Glenn. And no one else has mentioned it so far. What about trying using a different device, a smartphone or tablet, for example, to see if you can replicate the problem? If so, do send me the details and I’ll try at this end, too.

Well I think our broadcaster is brilliant, and even though I may have heard him say ‘giovane’ instead of ‘governo’ today I felt he has done me a great favour by my being able to discern it, for by listening to him on a regular basis he has improved my Italian listening and comprehension skills no end. Having taught in British schools for 33 years I have heard many young voices, and if I were to write a produce a report on this lad’s performance I would say it was impeccable. So keep up the good work everybody.

I think your son’s newscasts are great! I may find cause for criticism when I can speak Italian as well as he speaks as he clearly speaks English.

I do, however, have a very minor technical issue: when I press the page down button to scroll through the articles it reduces the volume.
Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

I think it’s bilingualism.

As regards mistakes, I am myself one of those picky people you mention, Lois. But listening to the free ‘easy Swedish news’ as I do each day, the quality of the audio is sometimes very poor.

Which has made me less critical than usual of our own imperfections. With this type of ‘news’ product, in any case, the important thing is to keep it coming, so people can get into the habit of reading/listening.

“Perfect is the enemy of good”, I hear. Though as Alan rightly points out, there is absolutely nothing wrong with aiming to be better.
