I’m publishing your comment, as I publish all comments except automated spam, but I resent this constant sniping at our freelance staff and editors from politically motivated commentators, whether MAGA, Russian/Ukrainian partisans, or others…

Readers are encouraged to look at the source articles for this piece. While it’s well known that many works of art were stolen during WWII, and many owners of art were killed or forced to emigrate, the focus of our article, and the source articles, was on the picture itself, and its unsual subject – an african prince – rather than on the fate of one of its several owners.

This is the second time your published action is whitewashing Jewish history.
In your article few weeks ago about the Bibas family, you figured it with a Palestianin flag!
Today, April 1st, you wrote that Ernetine Klein, the owner of the Klimt painting, “left Austriain 1938”. The Kleins were forced to leave Austria because they were Jewish and had to flee Nazis as iNazi Germany already invaded Austria at that time!
Shameful whitewashing and misinformation.
