In reply to Helma Schumertl. The purpose of this website to to prepare students to listen to 'long form' texts, such as news broadcasts on the radio or TV, or even things like lectures at university. The intended benefit, therefore, derives from listening to all of it, without stopping. You can ignore that advice and listen to only the parts that interest you if you wish, but that's not what the material is for. Also, there are plenty of other options for 'short' listening practice, which are designed specifically for that. Read the information about how to use it and this is my question: You recommended to listen and read the text three times. Now: ‘text’ means the whole news or only a section which is interesting me?
