Weather alerts come from NWS (National Weather Service) and/or local officials.
Other general “Emergency Alerts” come from the Emergency Alert System.
I know it’s complicated, but when I first listened to the story about the flooding in NY, I thought there was something about a stolen child because it mentioned “Amber Alert”
